Dynamic Dilution, Constraint-Release, and Star-Linear Blends

چکیده
The dynamic dilution theory of stress relaxation, quantitative for star polymer melts, cannot be directly applied to star-linear blends. The linear chains on their reptation time scale τd release constraints on the star arms, resulting in constraint-release Rouse motion for the star arms not described by dynamic dilution. We present a microscopic theory without adjustable parameters for stress relaxation in such blends, which is in excellent agreement with dynamic rheology data for the full range of blend

Effective interaction parameter of linear/star polymer blends and comparison with that of linear/linear and star/star blends.
The authors present a detailed study of the microscopic parameters, which control the miscibility in binary linear/star polymer blends. The effective interactions of linear/star polymer blends are studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations and comparison is made with linear/linear and star/star blends, which they also determined. Using the bond fluctuation model on a simple cubic lattice, the ...
متن کاملMonte Carlo simulation of star/linear and star/star blends with chemically identical monomers
The effects of chain size and architectural asymmetry on the miscibility of blends with chemically identical monomers, differing only in their molecular weight and architecture, are studied via Monte Carlo simulation by using the bond fluctuation model. Namely, we consider blends composed of linear/linear, star/linear and star/star chains. We found that linear/linear blends are more miscible th...
متن کاملEffects of the Chain Architecture on the Miscibility of Symmetric Linear/Linear and Star/Star Polymer Blends
The effects of chain architecture on the miscibility of polymer blends were studied by means of Monte Carlo simulations. Using the bond fluctuation model on a simple cubic lattice, we were able to simulate symmetric linear/linear andsfor the first timesstar/star blends with a moderate number of arms. The simulations were made at a volume fraction of occupied lattice sites æ ) 0.5, which corresp...
متن کاملDynamics in miscible blends of polyisoprene and poly(p-tert-butyl styrene): thermorheological behavior of components
For miscible blends of moderately entangled cis-polyisoprene (PI) and poly(p-tert-butyl styrene) (PtBS), viscoelastic and dielectric properties were examined over a wide range of temperature (T ) to discuss the thermo–rheological behavior of respective components. Because PI has the type-A dipole, whereas PtBS does not, the slow dielectric response of the blends was exclusively attributed to th...
متن کاملAn Efficient Bi-objective Genetic Algorithm for the Single Batch-Processing Machine Scheduling Problem with Sequence Dependent Family Setup Time and Non-identical Job Sizes
This paper considers the problem of minimizing make-span and maximum tardiness simultaneously for scheduling jobs under non-identical job sizes, dynamic job arrivals, incompatible job families, and sequence-dependentfamily setup time on the single batch- processor, where split size of jobs is allowed between batches. At first, a new Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) model is proposed for t...
